a Night for Sight - Home

May 31, 2008

welcome

On behalf of the Board of Trustees of the Alliance for Vision Research and the Michigan Ophthalmological Society, we would like to welcome you to the 7th annual  "A Night for Sight Charity Auction".

This year's event will benefit, among other centers, Ophthalmological research at the Beaumont Eye Institute at William Beaumont Hospital, the Henry Ford Hospital Department of Ophthalmology at Henry Ford Health System, The Ligon Center at Kresge Eye Institute at Wayne State University, Holley Institute at the St. John Health System and Children's Hospital of Michigan. We are grateful for the magnificent work they do in our community to restore, improve and preserve vision.

We are proud to announce our event Chairs this year are Dr. Paul Edwards and Mrs. Jennifer Edwards as well as Mr. David Morrison and Mrs. Lori Morrison who will bring together medical and non-medical supporters for A Night for Sight. Increasing the number of supporters at the Patron level can truly grow the event and allow the Alliance for Vision Research to provide a greater level of financial support to our beneficiaries.

We are extremely excited to announce that the celebrated Château Beychevelle is our French Vintner, and that the famed Rombauer Vineyards, Celani Family Vineyards, and Egelhoff Wines are our distinguished California Vintners, and the superb Chateau Grand Traverse as our Michigan Vintner.

Once again Luisa DiLorenzo, Chair of our Board of Trustees, has headed both the Banquet Committee and the Pharmaceutical Company Coordinating Committee. The indefatigable Rich Brown has done another phenomenal job as Chair of the Wine Acquisitions Committee. Rich, thanks to you and your wife Karen for all the hard work and time spent. Beth Morrison has enlisted the wineries and distributor participation as Chair of our Vintner Coordinating Committee. Our great appreciation goes to Beth and her husband Scot for all their time, knowledge, and efforts.

Doug Dalton returns as our auctioneer. He lends that wonderful combination of elegant style and exuberance that so typifies this event. Sharing the podium with Doug Dalton again this year is Dick Scheer, of The Village Corner in Ann Arbor. Dick will be our auction lot commentator and brings us his extensive experience as a wine educator.

In the catalog are listed the countless number of people involved in making this event a success. Please take note of them.

On behalf of A Night for Sight and the Alliance for Vision Research, welcome, and please enjoy the evening.

Remember Its All About the Kids!
